Here\u2019s a little about what makes it special: \ud83c\udf3f Historical significance &#8211; Originally built to house the ashes of a Lanna king. &#8211; Has been home to Buddhist monks from Burma, invited to spread Theravada Buddhism. &#8211; Several members of the Mengrai dynasty have their ashes buried here. \ud83c\udfef Architecture and atmosphere &#8211; The large chedi (stupa) from 1527 stands in raw brick, unlike the plastered chedis of other temples. &#8211; The viharn (assembly hall) is richly decorated with wood carvings and oriented north-south, which is unusual for Buddhist temples. &#8211; The temple grounds are peaceful and surrounded by beautiful gardens and hidden statues. \ud83d\udcda Cultural Center &#8211; The temple complex includes a library of ancient Buddhist scriptures and a bell tower overlooking the area. &#8211; It is still an active place for religious ceremonies and meditation. \ud83d\udd58 Practical Info &#8211; Open daily from 6 am to 7 pm. &#8211; Free admission. &#8211; Located just outside the old city wall, close to Chang Phuak Gate.
